We offer a safe and secure environment for our students on both the primary and secondary sites. Entry to the school buildings is controlled by a ‘key pad’ electronic access system and all visitors are required to sign-in at the school office.
The immediate environs of both sites are fully fenced and secured, both to prevent unauthorised access to, and restrict unsupervised exit from, the school.
Both primary and secondary sites have outside play areas equipped with a variety of climbing, sports and play equipment.
Both primary and secondary sites have fully equipped sensory rooms designed to develop play and social skills and to help with the development of balance and coordination. The sensory rooms are lined with soft padding to prevent injury.
We have toilet and changing facilities designed for those with physical disabilities and specialist toilet and changing facilities for those pupils that require assistance.
We have school halls on both sites which are used for assemblies and other gatherings, as well as PE and lunches. We also have ICT suites, music and library facilities on both sites and all of our classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and other teaching aids.
Our secondary site also boasts a food technology room, outside gym, and music room. We have a garden which is used to develop life skills which is accessed by all classes.
Our secondary site has a large sports field for outdoor games and there is also a MUGA. Both are available for use by the entire school.
We are able to offer our students access to a Life Skills Centre located at our primary site where they can develop and practise skills needed for adult life.
Ivel Valley School has three school minibuses, two of which are equipped for wheelchair access, that are used for school trips and visits.
