Training
The Ivel Valley School team are able to provide a variety of training courses, including bespoke training for individual settings or services.
We host training for mainstream and special schools in our purpose built Hub and are able to provide lunch and refreshments.
Our training includes Team Teach, Signalong, Autism training and more. We are happy to discuss individual training requirements with schools. Examples of other recent training courses include Lego Therapy, Mental Health First Aid and regional moderation meetings.
We are able to provide bespoke training packages for schools on request.

Engagement Model Training

This Engagement Model Training will focus on three key areas
Understanding the engagement model and the use of observations
Plan, do, review
Reporting and accountability
Intended Outcomes
To understand what the Engagement Model is
To explore what is meant by the term Engagement
To understand who the engagement model is for
To begin to explore how the Engagement Model links to the 4 areas of need (EHCP)
To discuss the power of observation
To make links between the engagement model and the curriculum
To develop confidence in using the engagement model to inform teaching and learning
To understand how the information gathered from the engagement model feeds into next steps and informs progress
This training is intended to give schools an opportunity to reflect on their own practice and decide how best to move forward with incorporating the Engagement Model into their own setting. Further information will be sent out to attendees outlining suggested materials to bring along to the session.
