Communication Support Worker

Grade: NJC Special School - Level 4A (Points 14-19 )

Salary: £13.17 - £14.44 per hour (actual gross pay £19,347 - £21,212 per annum)

Job Description:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Communication Support Worker who will support the development of speech and language therapy work across the whole school and college. You will work alongside our existing Communication Support Worker and NHS Speech & Language therapist. Although previous experience is preferred, we are looking for people with the skills, aptitude and attitude to work effectively with our pupils, all of whom have special educational needs. If you think that you fit the bill and would like to work with our fantastic children and young people please submit an application.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the whole school and you could be required to work on either site or in one of our satellite classes. Three days per week will be whole school focused and two days will be working in a single class supporting staff with pupils requiring communication support and more general TA duties

The post is a permanent full time role starting 1st September 2023. It is for 35 hours weekly, 8.30am – 4.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only (45.2 weeks per year)

Pay scale: NJC Special Schools 4A (points 14-19) £13.17 – £14.44 per hour (actual gross pay £19,347 – £21,212 per annum)

Level 2 Teaching Assistant - working across the whole School

Salary: £10.98 to £11.18 per hour

Job Description:

Due to expansion of the school, I am looking to appoint enthusiastic, ambitious and energetic teaching assistants who want to work with our fantastic children and young people. If you think that you meet these criteria please get in touch, even if you haven’t worked in a special school before!

Our School site on Hitchmead Road caters for pupils from Early Years up to Key Stage 4, with the majority of students then continuing on to Post 16 education at our College Site on the Baulk.

The post is a permanent full time contract and is for 35 hours weekly and the hours you will be required to work are 8.30am – 4.00pm on a daily basis.  Part time contracts will be considered for a reduced number of days, however the working hours are fixed.

Midday Supervisory Assistant

Job Description:

We are often looking for a Midday Supervisory Assistants to join the team to work at one of our sites in Biggleswade; the School site (Hitchmead Road), the College site (The Baulk) or our satellite classes at Biggleswade Academy. These posts are quite different from those at a mainstream school so please read the job description to fully understand the nature of the role.

The posts are for 2 hours a day over lunchtime (12-2pm), Monday to Friday during term time.
