Job Description:

We are looking for dedicated, resilient, and enthusiastic HTLAs to join our professional team to support the work of teachers in raising standards of pupil achievement. In return, we will offer you a structured induction programme and a commitment to your future professional development. In addition to this you will become part of a dedicated and enthusiastic staff team.

The main school operates on our Hitchmead Road site which consists of our EYFS to KS4 students. We also have three satellite classes based on a local mainstream school site. Less than 1/2 mile away is our college on The Baulk. The college provides high standards of education for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities aged 16 to 19.

It’s important to note that it is an expectation that new HLTAs complete a specialist course, which does come with an additional workload that you will need to manage in your own time.

Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner

Job Description:

We are looking for highly motivated, resilient and dedicated individual to join our team as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner.

The individual will work under the guidance of our PBS Lead, and will work alongside external professionals to support the outcomes of a student.

This role is a full time contract, and will be based across the whole school.

The hours are 35 hours per week, 45.2 weeks per year. You will be required to work Monday to Friday.

(NJC) pay scale at CBC School Level, Level 4 Band A (SEN) (points 14 to 19) £25,409 – £27, 852 (pro-rata) which annually equates to £20,835 – £22,844 (please note this includes a pay award that has not yet been confirmed)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To develop, implement and monitor impact of PBS plans following guidance from PBS lead.
  2. To complete observations, functional analysis and weekly recording charts to support evaluation of PBS plans.
  3. Apply knowledge of PBS universal approach and specific plans set out by the PBS Lead.
  4. ​​Providing intensive support to dysregulated pupils or an individual pupil over an extended period of time.
  5. To pro-actively implement a range of different behaviour management strategies to support individual pupil.
  6. Remain resilient and calm during high intensity situations.
  7. Contribute and follow tailored risk assessments taking responsibility for individual pupils on PBS plans.
  8. Work alongside external professionals to support the outcomes of a student including Camhs, school nursing team and social care.
  9. To ensure that the work set by the teacher is carried out in accordance with the school’s policies.
  10. To support expectations of pupil behaviour in the classroom, community maintaining appropriate standards of discipline, following individual behaviour management plans and ensuring that the school’s behaviour management policy is adhered to.
  11. To deal with any emergencies or problems which occur, in line with the school’s policies and procedures.
  12. Under agreed school procedures to give first aid/medicine where necessary, assist with programmes of special care such as physiotherapy or speech therapy under the direction of the appropriate specialist.
  13. To assist with preparation for school visits and the supervision of pupils on such visits, in liaison with the Educational Visits Coordinator.
  14. To assist with the pastoral care of pupils, attending to their personal and social needs as necessary and building and maintaining successful relationships with them.
  15. To promote and support the inclusion of all pupils in the learning activities in which they are involved.

Job Description:

We are often looking for a Midday Supervisory Assistants to join the team to work at one of our sites in Biggleswade; the School site (Hitchmead Road), the College site (The Baulk) or our satellite classes at Biggleswade Academy. These posts are quite different from those at a mainstream school so please read the job description to fully understand the nature of the role.

The posts are for 2 hours a day over lunchtime, Monday to Friday during term time.
