Kitchen Assistant

Grade: NJC Special School Scale Level 1D Special Schools (Points 2 – 4)

Salary: £9.43 per hour / £8524 per year

Job Description:

We are looking for a kitchen assistant to work in our main school kitchen at our Hitchmead Road site. The successful applicant would work under the supervision of the kitchen manager to provide support in preparing, cooking and serving of food and all related duties e.g. cleaning up the dining area. They would need to be prepared to work across the two dining areas including sometimes working alone in the Key Stage 2 dining room when serving dinners and cleaning up. Applicants should have experience of working in a commercial or busy catering environment.

This is a term time only post and is for 4 hours a day – 10:30 to 2:30pm Monday to Friday, including training days.

Salary: £9.81 to £10.01 per hour (starting salary £15,519 per annum if working 35 hours)

Job Description:

Due to expansion of the school, I am looking to appoint enthusiastic, ambitious and energetic teaching assistants who want to work with our fantastic children and young people. If you think that you meet these criteria please get in touch, even if you haven’t worked in a special school before!

The post is a permanent full time contract and is for 35 hours weekly and the hours you will be required to work are 8.30am – 4.00pm on a daily basis.  Part time contracts will be considered for a reduced number of days, however the working hours are fixed.

This is an exciting time to join the school and play a role in our future development.

Visits for prospective candidates are welcomed and encouraged. Due to current restrictions, the visits will be arranged in accordance with social distancing guidelines.

Midday Supervisory Assistant

Grade: NJC Special School - Point 2 - 4

Job Description:

We are often looking for a Midday Supervisory Assistants to join the team to work at one of our sites in Biggleswade; the School site (Hitchmead Road), the College site (The Baulk) or our satellite classes at Biggleswade Academy. These posts are quite different from those at a mainstream school so please read the job description to fully understand the nature of the role.

The posts are for 2 hours a day over lunchtime, Monday to Friday during term time.
