What is the Bursary Fund?

The 16 – 19 Bursary Fund is a scheme to provide financial support to help our 6th form students who face the greatest barriers to continuing in education with us post-16.

Who is eligible to apply?

Bursaries fall into 2 categories:

A bursary for vulnerable groups which includes young people in care, care leavers and young people receiving specific benefits in their own right.  

Other students who need financial support to help them to stay in education or training may also be able to claim a bursary to help with costs of things like transport, food, equipment or other course-related costs. This bursary is referred to as a ‘discretionary’ bursary. 

Applying

Application is via an application form together with supporting evidence which is detailed in the form. The amount of funding for the bursary scheme is limited. Each application will be individually assessed and an amount will be awarded based on each student’s individual circumstances and their actual financial need.  

If you believe that you may be eligible for a bursary, applications forms can be printed from the link below and returned to the College Office. If your circumstances change during the school year you must tell us.
