The government provided additional funding of £150 million per annum for academic years 2013 – 2014, 2014 – 2015 and 2015 – 2016 to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.
This funding – provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport – will be allocated to primary schools. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

In the Academic Year 2015-16 Ivel Valley has received an allocation of £8,000 plus £5 per pupil for all children aged between 5 and 11 as recorded on the January 2015 census.
49 pupils equates to (49 x £5) = £245
